Gorges du Nan and the Cliffs of Presles
Distance : 60km/40miles
Climbing: 1000m/3300ft
This is a spectacular route which takes you up the Nan Gorge. Half way up you pass through the small hamlet of Mallaval where there is a water fountain and an auberge/café if you want a longer stop. You then climb above Mallaval and get superb views of the climb below.
The climb is just over 1000m in 13km so it's very similar to Alpe d'Huez. from the top of the climb you descend to another small village called Presles (pronounced 'Prell') where there is a very cool café run by Ezio.
From here there is the very scenic descent to Pont-en-Royans. This is a popular climbing area.
